So who the **** am I? Well, here's my story:
In middle school, my life took a significant turn when we moved to the United States. Adjusting to a new culture and environment brought both challenges and opportunities for growth. It taught me resilience and adaptability as I embraced every opportunity to immerse myself in the culture, from making new friends to participating in school activities. These years broadened my perspective, allowing me to experience a melting pot of ideas and values that shaped how I view the world today.
During this time, I developed an interest in finance. I remember spending hours watching virtual trading videos, captivated by the mechanisms of the stock market. While my curiosity was piqued, it wasn’t long before I discovered coding, which felt like a perfect fit for my problem-solving mindset. The ability to create and build something from scratch using logic and creativity immediately drew me in.
My passion for coding deepened as I started teaching myself through online resources. I vividly recall watching tutorials during school breaks and experimenting with small projects. Eventually, I stumbled upon hackathons—events that combined teamwork, creativity, and a fast-paced environment. Competing in hackathons allowed me to push my limits and learn rapidly, further solidifying my love for technology and innovation.
After completing my first year of high school in the U.S., my family returned to Turkey. This transition presented another set of challenges, but it also provided an opportunity to reconnect with my roots. Adapting to a new education system and re-establishing relationships with friends and family required flexibility, but I embraced the change. I found joy in sharing my experiences from the U.S. and blending them with my life in Turkey, creating a unique perspective that I carry with me today.
Outside of academics and coding, I have a deep appreciation for exploring the world around me. Whether it’s biking through scenic trails, hiking in the mountains, or visiting museums, I’ve always been drawn to activities that expand my horizons and connect me with different aspects of life. These hobbies ground me, offering a balance to my intellectual pursuits.
I’ve always loved diving into rabbit holes, especially those involving AI ethics and philosophy, exploring how technology intersects with human values. Sharing these discoveries with friends has become a joy, whether it’s through conversations, projects, or creative outlets.
Throughout my journey, adaptability, curiosity, and a love for discovery have been central to my growth. From my early travels to my transitions between countries and my growing passion for technology, each experience has shaped who I am today. Moving forward, I’m excited to use my technical skills and knowledge in coding and AI to create innovative solutions and meaningful projects with real-world impact.
